English Language Challenges

Image
Today I'm going to talk about learning English and its chellenges. Learning English at University was a very brief chapter because I got into the last level by the diagnostic test and in this pandemic context we had clases in a very special way. It felt like Open English haha but very fresh and nice nonetheless.  The use of the blogs was a new experience to me, even though I had social media accounts for many years where I posted things about myself I had never kept a blog on the Internet where I would write a somewhat extense text with their respective picture. I like seeing my blog and its entries and think that its something that I did and its there talking about me. I always want to speak the most creative way possible so I always check on local slang and funny words or expressions. I watch a lot of funny videos on the Internet so I learn them the most natural way I can. Just like living in a English speaking country!  Star Wars The Old Republic, a role playing game I play...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Image
Today I'm going to talk about the changes my study programme. It's a very interesting topic because as a Plastic Arts student the normal thing to do is to make our projects in workshops and have our theoric clases in big halls for everyone to attend. But now all those places are closed due to the quarantine to prevent anyone get sick. My main subject, Central Workshop of Contemporary Jewerlery, which is the specialiation you choose from the carreer to graduate, has been the most affected, because we used to work with very specific materials, as metal, wood, glazes, and a variety of tools and machinery present exclusively in the workspace as kilns and rotor motors we have at the university facility so for example, this year we had a technic module to learn metal embossing, using an specific toolset and a big professional blowtorch to heat tar and everything up and also an internship in the University of Chile Anatomic Insitute to later make an special art project alluding the bod...

"New" Leisure Activities During Pandemic

Image
I'm going to talk about a thing that I've been doing during this quarantine time and that is...  WRITING!  three already filled up and a fourth one ongoing Yeah, I have filled so far three notebooks with personal feelings, thoughts and little drawings and doodles. This has been great for think about life and make my personal process of growth more real because now there is some kind of evidence. When I pick an old notebook and read something from the past sometimes is a strong tool and a piece of internal knowlegde that blows my mind. Anyways, keeping a diary is something very useful and I didn't realise how much I've written like right now but the thing is that I've been writing my whole life, making this little diaries with doodles and stuff. But when I was a child they were just that, maybe not very reflexive but now...dang If I keep doing it like this I will end up publishing something or maybe after I pass away lol (It's just silly things that I think somet...

ANIMAL FRIEND

Image
I haven't really had many pets in my life. I was raised without them at home and if I ever had I never took pictures of them. Animals have not been very present in my personal life. Still I remember those who were very dear even though they did not live with me for many years. I can't really say exactly how many animals I have made friends with, so I will only mention those that I remember most closely. Some of my furry friends came to me by pure chance. I saw them on the street or when I moved to a new house they already lived there and I played with them every day. I remember my dear dog Mia, who lived with us until I left home in Punta Arenas and came to Santiago to study at the university. I think it is important to know how to bond with animals because they teach us another way of communicating, they have their own mood and personality and you could say that they are almost pure love and sharing. Thanks for reading and please comment something nice while passing by n.n

(One of) the best gigs I've ever been to

Image
On that ocassion me and some friends went to see Meshuggah (Sweden) and Rammstein (Germany) at Rockout fest. It was on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Santa Laura Stadium.  There played several bands in the same day because it was kind of a big festival, with some of the bands very punk rock like but there was this other side more metalish where played these two bands that are one of my favorites. Meshuggah plays progressive metal, very heavy and saturated, with gutural voices and frenetic guitar riffs and solos; and Rammstein plays a different style that is industrial metal, more structured and with clean, strong voices. The place felt nice and there were no violent incidents so we were able to enjoy the show from start to finish and  the show was perfect just at the level of these great bands. Even tho we had to make a huge line to go pee just before the show started and after it finished but it was worth it, hehe.

A country I would like to visit. Iceland

Image
Iceland is beautiful land full of mystic landscapes where the natural zones rule the country. It reminds me also of the place where I was born, Punta Arenas in the extreme south of Chile. It looks very cold and countryside style even tho Iceland has citíes with everything a big city has. Icelandic people are very respectful of their traditions and northern heritage and have a private attitude towards foreigners. They have a really low crime rate with almost no gunshots ever shot by policeforce and almost no seriuos crimes like murders. Its population is just over 330 thousand inhabitants throughout the country. Of that, a third live in its capital Reykjavik. First I would love to visit and explore the geysers, lakes and beautiful mountains it has in its natural environment. But I also would like to live there, in a peaceful and cozy place and do some art to make a living, even teach Spanish or art lessons.
